(背)
- 印刷型式出版品。
- 縮影及縮印式出版品。
- 以印刷為主的其他媒體出版品 。
- 地圖資料出版品。
- 盲人點字出版品。
＊ ISSN 可以同時擁有 ISBN，一本書可以同時有2種號碼。
(背) ISBN 有四個規定位置:
- 版權頁下方; 或
- 封底靠近裝訂處(橫排本為右下方，直排本為左下方)，若有條碼應印於條碼上方。
- 護封、封套或書衣封底依上項規定印製。 (書腰、封套不可，2者通常為行銷用，沒有著錄價值)
- 以印刷為主的其他媒體出版品若無法依前三項規定辦理 者，則視其形制印製於顯要處。
它的內容可以是OCR-A 或OCR-B, 及EAN(European Article Number) 的條碼。
EAN-UCC 產品, 在國際標準書號之前, 加上978, 並重算其檢查號。
識別題名 Key-title
ISSN 和 Key-title 是由 國際叢刊資料系統 (International Serials Data System, ISDS) 給定的, 這兩個是配對的, 必然同時出現。

分析
Added entry(附加款目) :An entry, additional to the main entry, by which an item is represented in a catalogue; a secondary entry.
Main entry(主要款目) : The complete catalogue record of an item, presented in the form by which the entity is to be uniformly identified and cited. The main entry may include the tracing(s).
Entry(標目) : A record of an item in a catalogue.
Heading: A name, word or phrase placed at the head of a catalogue entry to provide an access point.
Analytical entry(分析款目) : An entry for a part of an item for which a comprehensive entry is also made.
Analytical note(分析註) :The statement in an analytical entry relating the part being analyzed to the item of which it is a part.
